Cochran's Crossing

Cochran’s Crossing is one of the earliest developments of The Woodlands, and is in the heart of this master-planned community. Founded in 1983 and named after the Cochran family, once co-owners of the Grogan-Cochran Lumber Company, now occupies the beautiful piney woods area that was formerly timbering country.

Forests and Parks

Cochran's Crossing is home to Bear Branch Park and Shadowbend Park with playgrounds and recreation areas.  The Woodlands Recreation Center is also located in this village. Shadowbend Park features a swimming pool.

Cochran’s Crossing Village Center features professional offices, neighborhood services, banks, and shops. Several restaurants, full-service beauty salon, and boutiques flank the Kroger Signature store.

The Woodlands is part of the Conroe ISD public school system. Three elementary schools serve Cochran's Crossing: Galatas, David and Powell Elementary. Collins Intermediate School serves grades 5 & 6, and The Woodlands High School  serves grades 10-12. There are many private pre-schools and child care centers as well.  Furthermore, the Lone Star College system is also located in The Woodlands area, offering both college courses and college prepatory courses.

Golf and Country Club

Cochran's Crossing is the home of The Woodlands Country Club and the 27-hole Palmer golf course.
